Ethical and Sustainable Supply Chain Policy
Across our operations, Grommets Ltd is seeing an opportunity to lead suppliers to better ethical, social and environmental performance. There are increasing expectations to be transparent on selection processes, expose breaches and encourage ethical conduct where we have influence within our own and customers’ supply chains.
Grommets Ltd is committed to high standards of business ethics, as reflected in our own employee Code of Conduct, and to best practice and continuous improvement in the broader sustainability performance of our business and projects. We have aligned our practices with the ten universally accepted principles in the areas of human rights, labour standards, environment and anti-corruption.
Grommets Ltd reserves the right to terminate its trading agreement where a supplier is unable to demonstrate a commitment to this policy. Our commitments are aligned to the Ethical Trade Initiative (ETI) and International Labour Organisation (ILO) Conventions, and requires that:
- Local laws are respectedn
- Employment is freely chose
- Child labour shall not be used
- Illegal labour shall not be used
- Appropriate wages are paid
- Working hours are not excessive
- Freedom of association and the right to collective bargaining are respected
- Working conditions are safe and hygienic
- No discrimination is practiced
- No harsh or inhumane treatment is allowed
- Businesses operate ethically
- No unauthorised sub-contracting is allowed
- Due regard is given to environmental impacts – conflict minerals
These policies apply to all Grommets Ltd employees (staff, contract and temporary) and extends to all our business dealings and transactions in all countries in which we trade.
